Euro Domain Secure - unlock / unsuspend your .eu domain name

Due to Brexit, from 1 January 2021 businesses in the UK that have no place of business in the European Union will no longer be permitted to hold or use .eu domain names. From 1 January 2021 your .eu domain may have been locked and suspended by EURid. Our proven legal framework can help you unlock your domain and keep it without changing ownership or hosting.

Your domain name is critical to your business, and though you may not actively use your .eu domain most businesses see the value in retaining the name to catch additional web traffic to your main .com or .co.uk domain, or to prevent competitors from registering it and diverting your web traffic to their own websites.

UK and Swedish FlasgsFrom 1 January 2021 you can only register or hold .eu domain names if you are:

  • an EU/EEA citizen, independently of where you live
  • not an EU/EEA citizen but resident in the EU/EEA
  • an organisation, business or undertaking that is established in the EU/EEA

With assistance from City of London law firm, Druces LLP, we have prepared an international legal structure using our Registered Swedish Branch (through the Swedish version of Companies House – Bolagsverket) that lets you retain control of your domain and meet the EU criteria for ownership.
